The ink that came with my printer just ran out, so I replaced the cartridges, but now magenta will not print. Running the tests or clean print head option simply shows a page without any magenta. I've tried a different magenta cartridge to no affect. I also tried getting a HP cartridge; but it doesn't even recognize that one - it just says cartridge insertion error, even though it appears to seat in place fine. The other 2 at least display as recognized and full ink.
It doesn't appear that you can clean the print heads manually in this printer... or I do not see any instructions for that. The contacts seem clean - the printer is still fairly new (I got it for Christmas and have mostly used it to scan things), and hasn't printed all that much with the included ink. However, I did take a cleaning cloth over them as the help page instructed, also to no change. I've unplugged the printer to let it reset, which did not seem to do anything.
Is there any better way to clean the print head? It doesn't look like option in the menu that does very much.

Try here.
If this does not work, call HP. Printer may be defective and you will get another.

I already listed doing all the steps on that page in my original post.
Unfortunately it seems like an amazing pain to get ahold of HP so far...
I keep thinking that it happening when I changed ink cartridges has got to mean something that can be reset or cleaned, but... it just doesn't appear there's much to even try.
