Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Have set up the printer and it prints and scans using the HP scan & print doctor, but when clicking  the icon of the printer on the desktop wont open up into the HP manager window, all that happens is it keeps asking if i want to allow the app to be installed and wants me to go through the set up process again

 

How do i recifiy this problem so i can access the manager window

Hi,

Please uninstall the HP Basic Device Software by clicking the Start button > Settings (gear icon) > Apps and locating the program, then remove it.

 

Next, download and install the latest software below and check for any difference:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/OJ7740/OJ7740_Full_WebPack_40.12.1161.exe

Thanks but no difference

I just cant access the HP manager from double clicking the printer icon.

 

also how do you get the HP scan icon to stay on task bar, if i close it down i have to always go back to the Hp print and scan doctor click and go through the whole test scan process then minimise to task bar , surley that cant be right
