Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Printer worked fin yesterday.  HP 8710 All in One connected wireless through Lynksys WAP.  All other functions on the WAP are working fine.  Using Windows 10 64 bit HP Laptop.  When I try to print it stalls in the queue.  Checking status the printer shows initializing.  I powered down laptop, router and printer and turned back on without any success.  Following online suggestion I unplugged printer while turned on.  Held power button in 15 seconds and plugged back in.  Printer powers up again.

Status shows ready in HP Smart.  I send a print and it falls back to initializing and I cannot print.  Any support would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to HP support community.

Perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware
