Hi,
My HP8710 has started randomly locking up with the message below, re-booting cures the issue. There is no other info apart from Event code 74740 in the log.
A new message, phone cord connected has now started popping up during a scan operation. No cord is connected.
I would usually do a factory reset at this stage but the printer is on Instant Ink and I get a warning 'Instant ink will no longer function after the reset'
Any ideas?
Cheers.

Hi @M1711,
I'd like to help!
I understand you are receiving a 740740 error on the printer screen.
Try the below suggestions-
Let's try a power reset on the printer
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
