Hi @Edelweiss4392,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Business Inkjet 2800 is still indicating that the Magenta cartridge is empty after replacing it with new ones, here are some steps you can try.
- Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the Magenta cartridge is properly installed. Remove and reinsert the cartridge, making sure it's seated correctly.
- Check for Protective Tape: Verify that any protective tape or seals have been removed from the new cartridge before installation.
- Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the printer’s status.
- Clean Contacts: Gently clean the electrical contacts on both the cartridge and inside the printer with a soft, lint-free cloth. Make sure the printer is turned off and unplugged before doing this.
- Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Check the HP website for any available updates for your printer model.
- Check Cartridge Compatibility: Verify that the new cartridge is compatible with your printer model. Sometimes using non-original cartridges can cause issues.
- Printer Calibration: Perform a printer calibration or alignment from the printer’s menu or software. This can sometimes resolve cartridge detection issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
