Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

On a CP3525 Printer, I would like to do the following test :
ITB Contact/Alienation Test

(as described here : https://inkandtonerlocker.com/pages/hp-cp3525-cm3530-m551-m575-59-f0-error)

To perform this test, the right door must be opened (in order to to visually check if the alienation drive hub rotates or not during the test).

But when the right door is opened, the printer control panel is blocked to "close the right door".

So, if I understood properly, I have to defeat the interlock switch to perform the test.

But, I was unable to locate this so called "interlock switch"

Would you know :
- where is the "interlock switch" ?
- how it looks like ?
- how to defeat it ?

I thank you in advance for any reply.

Patrick

Interlock is on the upper left next to the fuser. as pictured below

To defeat, fold a piece of paper over several times to make a paper push stick to push into the slot to engage the switch.

Hello

I thank you for your useful reply about the way to defeat the interlock switch.

As a summary, I am listing what I did to try to understand the cause of the 59.F0 error on my CP3525 printer.

1- Unplug the printer from the mains and re-plug the day after : 59.F0 error still displaying

2- Reseat the ITB and power cycle the printer : 59.F0 error still displaying

3- Remove the ITB completely from the printer and inspect the ITB : nothing seems wrong

4- Remove the ITB
Check to see if the ITB flag rotates when the white knob is turned : rotation as expected.

5- Remove all print cartridges
Access Trouble Shooting /Diagnostics Menu from the printer control panel
Press the down arrow to highlight “MANUAL SENSOR TEST” and then press the OK button
Several zero digits are displayed.
Locate the sensor behind the cyan OPC drum position.
Insert a piece of paper to activate the primary transfer-roller disengagement sensor.
Check the control-panel display for sensor response.
One zero digit is replaced by 1
So, Sensor SR17 works properly.

6- Open right door
Defeat interlock switch
Interlock is on the upper left next to the fuser.
To defeat, fold a piece of paper over several times to make a paper push stick to push into the slot to engage the switch
From the printer control panel access Trouble Shooting /Diagnostics Menu
Locate and select Component Test
Press the down arrow to highlight ITB Contact/Alienation, then press OK.
During the test (about 20 seconds), observe the white alienation drive hub located above the
Cyan cartridge.
The alienation drive hub rotates as expected.
So, I guess that the fuser drive is OK.

7- What could be the next step ?

I thank you very much in advance for any suggestion.
