CP6015dn roller kit.jpegWe have a customer with a Laserjet CP6015dn. We ordered a roller kit (CB459A) the original kit is a little different. when we installed the new kit there was a message on the printed display "INSTALL ROLLER UNIT"  I have attached a photo of the different assemblies. The one on top is the original roller kit. any idea on whats causing the issue

Check the holder assembly in the printer. On each side there is a hook that holds the assembly in tight contact with the transfer belt and the electrical contacts and can cause an error. The actually break quite often, Picture below shows an intact left hook, right side should look the same.

Part number for a hook kit is Q3931-67945

If we put the old one back in its fine. If you look at the picture of the 2 assemblies the new one has the extra copper contact on the right

I pulled a new stock one and it does indeed have the second contact. It appears that they are using the same roller that is used in the newer 855/880 series. I would suggest that you put a piece of tape over the contact to so it is not grounding and see if that resolves the problem. Scotch tape where the red circle is so it does not contact the grounding spring in the printer.
