I ran a security related software/firmware update on my MFP M281cdw printer and HP --> "bricked" <-- my printer. I now get a "Supply Memory Error on Toner" message and the printer is DOA. The only "suggestion" is to buy HP toner cartridges at the confiscatory price of about $350 for a set of 4. I will back over this printer with my truck and buy a new Canon printer before I'll ever spend that much for toner.

This business practice is unconscionable, reprehensible, displays poor business ethics and judgement and is just downright evil to NOT allow 3rd party cartridges to be used.

I would like to back out the update so that I can print again. is there an path to resolution?  If not, you've lost a life-long customer.

The latest firmware of your printer blocks any 3rd party supplies. You only have 2 options :

1. Buy original HP toners

2. Search the web or this forum how to downgrade your printers firmware to July 2020 version.

This forum now is full if this issue. HP now does this.
