Need more details about what you have tried. As you do not specify what you have done, below might be redundant, but when the troubleshooting process is not documented clearly, I am forced to operate from the position that nothing has been tried yet.

Is this a brand new printer or a used printer you purchased from someone else?

Are you using HP original toners?

Have you performed at least 3 full calibrations using either the control panel or the embedded web server?

Is the power good where the printer is located? Not plugged into a UPS or surge protector or an outlet with another high current draw item like an air conditioner or heater?

If you find the information provided useful or solves your problems, help other users find the solution easier by marking my post as an accepted solution. Clicking "yes" on "was this reply helpful" also increases the chances that this solution will help others.

I have tried reseating cartridges and updating firmware on the chips. They're 3rd party cartridges and a refurbished printer. I couldn't find where to calibrate in the control panel so will try the web server today.

Thanks for your suggestion and questions.

Ended up returning cartridges and getting new ones. New ones worked perfectly. Still non HP but worked. Accepted solution enabled more detailed troubleshooting and confirmation that it was the cartridges at fault.
