I have a HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477fdw printer. After turning on, the screen works with white bar appearing and all the motors, fuser etc. works. However, after about 5 secs, the screen is black. It doesn't receive any print data from USB and LAN cable too. What could be the possible problem? I guess some hardware part is defective, but I am not sure which ones.

Based on units I have serviced, if you have no response from USB or network and the screen is blank then the formatter is the issue.

Turn the printer ON with paper loaded in tray 2, when the printer finishes the rotation and the screen goes black open and close front door 4 times. The printer should print a single page with colour stripes, if it does then you have a defective mainboard.

Thank you for professional reply. I tried your method exactly. In my case, there are some sounds goes on in tray 2, seems it wants to pick up paper, but it does bot print anything. My guess is that the formatter (logic board) became defective. Because there is no communication (lan, usb, display) possible with printer, but fuser, motors are working (mainboard maybe therefore works too). What do you think?
