Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently bought the HP Color M281 used; the seller told me that they tried to use third party toner and since then have been getting the message "materialproblem". He then put the old, partly almost empty HP cartridges back in, but the message was still displayed. After some research I saw that it is possible to fix the problem with the "foreign" toners by downgrading the FW.
The FW date displayed was already "20200612"; maybe someone has either already tried that, or an update was never carried out (although I can't explain the error message when inserting the third-party toner).
I then executed the downgrade again and after this all the cartridges were recognized and it was possible to print.
But when I pulled out the toner carriage to simply have a look at the cartridges, the error message "material problem" was displayed immediately after pushing it back in and closing the front flap. Since then I can't get rid of it, which I try to do. I also don't understand why the message appears despite (albeit almost empty) HP cartridges.
I have now ordered a new set of toners (but third-party toners), but I am skeptical that it will work.
Are there any other hints as to what could be done or in the worst case did I waste 100 euros (printer price - toner I would send back in the worst case)?
Many thanks in advance.
