Hello,
I purchased this printer a few years ago and it worked perfectly fine. Recently I had my wifi updated and when I updated the wifi on my PC and printer I now have the constant issue of my printer being recorded "offline" by the HP smart app. Due to this, I am unable to print. I've attempted to reconnect which only sometimes works, i've attempted factory resets which only worked once. When I am able to print I am only able to print one job before the printer decides to go offline again making it impossible for the HP Smart app to recognize the printer let alone issue printing jobs.
Another issue is since the printer is offline most of the time my PC is unable to recognize it therefore I haven't even gotten the chance to actually register it to my HP account. pls help

Hi @ValerieDutt ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Dealing with printer connectivity issues can be frustrating, but let's try to troubleshoot the problem and find a solution. Here are Troubleshooting steps you can follow:
1. Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your PC. Confirm the Wi-Fi network settings on both the printer and your PC.
2. Printer Placement:
- Ensure that the printer is placed within a reasonable range of your Wi-Fi router to maintain a stable connection.
3. Restart Devices:
- Power cycle your printer, Wi-Fi router, and your PC. Turn them off, wait for a few seconds, and then turn them back on. This can often resolve connectivity issues.
4. Reconfigure Wi-Fi Settings:
- On your printer, go through the Wi-Fi setup process again. Delete the existing Wi-Fi settings and enter the new ones provided by your updated Wi-Fi network.
5. Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can address known issues.
6. Use HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility from the HP website. This tool can identify and resolve common printing problems.
7. Disable Firewall/Antivirus:
- Temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus software on your PC to check if they are blocking the communication between your PC and the printer.
8. Check IP Address:
- Assign a static IP address to your printer. This can prevent the IP address from changing and causing connectivity issues. Refer to your printer manual for instructions on how to set a static IP.
9. Printer Driver:
- Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your PC. Visit the HP website, download the latest drivers, and install them.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
