I bought my HP DeskJet 2630 All-in-One Printer in the UK. I'm now in Lagos, Nigeria trying to replace my ink cartridges. I went to the HP office/store in Lagos Nigeria and was informed that I can't buy cartridges for my printer in Nigeria as the printers are region specific. In other words,  HP DeskJet 2630 All-in-One Printer sold in Nigeria is different to a HP DeskJet 2630 All-in-One Printer sold in the UK and the ink cartridges are not compatible. I specifically bought a HP printer because I had issues with another brand name as they had no presence in Nigeria. Maintenance and ink replacement was becoming increasingly difficult and expensive.

I would be grateful if someone at HP can confirm if this is correct or not. If it is, how do I replace my ink cartridges?  I've bought electronics from different countries and have never encountered this before. The HP 2630 sold in Nigeria uses ink with product od 123, whilst mine uses 304. Please assist

Feedback on your virtual assistant - completely unhelpful. I think you have should have human beings assisting during office hours. Lots of time wasted going round and round in circles with the virtual assistant

@WFash, Welcome to HP Support Community!

We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Keep me posted.

Cheers 🙂
