I purchased a HP 65XL Color ink cartridge from Wal-Mart not long ago (2 months maybe) and installed it in my printer. This is our home printer, and it does not get used very much at all. We mostly print black and white documents on it. I have not printed hardly any color documents using this cartridge, so I know there is still ink in it. I also removed the cartridge and inspected it. It still readily puts out color ink onto a tissue, so I know there is still ink in it. My printer keeps showing an error message: color ink cartridge failure. It will not print anything, even if I select grayscale to use just the black ink cartridge. I have tried everything from unplugging the printer and plugging it back it. I have removed both cartridges, cleaned the slots, etc. It keeps saying that the color cartridge is failing. I paid a lot of money for that stupid ink cartridge so that it would last a long time! Please help!

Hi @Rachael_Kargbo,
If you have already performed the steps from the document Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.
Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Hope this helps!
