@MWilhoit, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Blinking Power Button on HP DeskJet 2700 Series Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If the power button on your HP DeskJet 2700 series printer is blinking and the printer won't print, it could indicate that the ink cartridge door is open, or the printer is in an error state. Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Steps to Resolve the Blinking Power Light

Check the Ink Cartridge Door:

  • If the ink cartridge door is open, close it securely.
  • If the ink cartridge door is already closed, proceed to the next steps.

Error Messages:

  • Check for any error message on your computer or mobile device. Follow any steps provided to resolve the issue.

Print a Document:

  • Try printing a document to generate a message which may help identify the problem.

Additional Troubleshooting:

  • Disconnect and Reconnect Power:
    • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
    • Unplug the power cord from the power source.
    • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power cord to the printer and plug it directly into a wall outlet.
  • Other Causes:
    • Ensure the printer is plugged into a working wall outlet.
    • If the printer does not turn on, test the power using a different compatible power cord.
    • If the printer still does not turn on, consider servicing the printer.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
