macOS 10.15 Catalina

I lost ability to print when OS updated on MacBook Pro. I've gone thru several threads here to address the issue and followed all of the suggestions -- rebooting the printer, removing drivers and restoring them, etc. Nothing works. Judging from the many complaints about this issue on a variety of HP printers, I'd say somebody writing software should find another way to make a living. As for me, I'm going to find another printer. This one might work perfectly on Windows, I'll never know. But it's **bleep** on my laptop and evidently a whole lot of other mac-based products. Bye.

Hi,

Please make sure your macOS is fully up to date by installing any update for Catalina:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201541

 

Next, uninstall any existing HP Software by following the HP Uninstaller Utility below:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/HP_Uninstaller...

 

Next, download and install the latest drivers below:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/ASU/HPPrinterDrivers5.1.dm...

 

Finally,  open System Preferences, and then open Printers & Scanners to re-add your printer. be sure to select the printer model within the Use drop-down menu.
