Whenever I print A4-sized documents (MS Word), the printer shrinks or scales the documents, resulting in smaller prints, and headers and footers misplaced/misalinged.

 

I tried converting the files into PDF but it still prints the same way.

 

But the printer works fine if I print legal- or folio-sized documents.

 

I am running Windows 10, 64-bit and HP Spectre Notebook.

 

I used both MS Office 2016 and 2019 but it's still the same.

 

BUT when I use my PC with MS Word 2016, the printer works fine.

  • Are you using the HP Smart app to print?
  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF or Webpages and check if the issue persists?

 

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

  • Are you using the HP Smart app to print? >> No. I print using MS Word. I tried using HP Smart app to tweak the settings and I already set the page scaling to "none".

 

  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF or Webpages and check if the issue persists? >> Yes. I converted my files to PDF but still the same results.

 

  • Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue. >> Already tried this and installed drivers and programs. Nothing helps.

In this case, let us perform a factory reset on the printer that may resolve this issue.

I have sent you a private message with a set of instructions to perform a reset. Kindly check the same, this might help you to resolve this issue. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
