HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 4535 All-in-One Printer

Hi,

My HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 4535 All-in-One Printer's touch panel has stopped responding. While the diplay shows the default information, printer in general works. However when I want to shut down the printer using the touch panel, its not working. I have to directly switch it off from the main power board.

Appreciate if someone can suggest solution or its needs to address by the service center only.

thanks and regards

Pankaj

@PankajMuley

Let's start with a printer reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
 NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed

Then update the Firmware from this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-ink-advantage-4530-all-in-one-printer-se...

Let me know how it goes 😊

Hi,

I performed all the steps mentioned. The problem is not solved. The firmware was already up to date. Providing some more details of the issue. Hope that might help provide solution.

Specifically with regards to touch panel operations, what I noticed is that that the lower part of the touch panel is not responding. For example if I select copy option, it will not let me choose whether to start black or colour, number of copies etc. Similarly the home option on the panel works, but return to previous menu doesn't work. Similarly I can't select the option to know the ink level. Basically all the options which come in the lower part of the panel are not responding.

Can you suggest what needs to be done in this case. If there is a customer number to log a case, please do advice as its not available on the website.

thanks in advance,

Pankaj

@PankajMuley

This seems to be a Hardware issue with the Touchscreen.
