Hi! I am trying to print a small file (57 KB - just black text), and the file keeps getting stuck in the print "queue". It is the only file being printed, and begins to process (and must process each page individually - showing the percentage of each page, which is already a red flag for a file of this size), then freezes at a random point normally on page 2 (it is a 25 page document) and there it sits, never getting further. It never begins to print.

I have done everything on every help forum I can find - I have reinstalled the drivers, reset my printer system, deleted / readded the printer, unplugged / replugged back in, switched USB slots, restarted the computer. The cord is less than 2ft long (and the same cord that Ive used forever with no issue before this morning), and there are no paper blockages, there is brand new ink, and I have tried to print both from the file source program (google docs) as well as download it as a pdf and print locally from my computer.

Any tips on what in the world is going on?

A warm welcome to HP forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

Updating software on Mac and adjusting the print settings may resolve the issue, let's try these steps:

1.) Use the steps available here to update software on Mac.

2.) On your Mac, open the photo or document you want to print.

3.) Open the photo or document you want to print, click File, and then click Print. For the Photos app, click the Print button at the bottom of the window.

The print settings window opens.

4.) Make sure your printer is selected.

5.) If you do not see options on the Print dialog box, click Show Details.

6.) Click the unnamed menu at the center of the window, click Paper Type/Quality or Media & Quality, and then select Normal or Draft from the Quality or Print Quality menu or slider.

7.) Click Print.

Let me know how it goes!
