Last night, between two print jobs, my HP Deskjet 1512 printer suddenly stopped printing, with an Ink Cartridge Failure message. The blinking light indicated a failure with my tri-color cartridge, which I had used a few days earlier. When I removed that cartridge, the blinking light indicated a failure with my black cartridge, which I had used two minutes earlier. I have tried removing and reseating the cartridges, cleaning the contacts, and unplugging the printer, but the errors are not clearing. These are third party cartridges which I have used repeatedly over the last few months without problem. Both have plenty of ink.
Why did this happen suddenly? Did HP release software, or is there some sort of timer which would cause this to suddenly happen? My printer is out of warranty -- shouldn't I be able to use any ink I choose? Both of these cartridges were working fine, so it seems unlikely that they should both fail simultaneously. Is there a way to bypass this error?

Thank you -- I have done this process several times, including unplugging the printer in the sequence suggested in the instruxctions. I think the contacts are all good, as I got this error message just two minutes after printing a previous job (black ink). I had printed a color job just a few days earlier. Suddenly, both cartridges are giving me the "Ink Cartridge Failure" message. Is there a way to bypass this message? This seems like a systemic failure, rather than an issue with either cartridge.

I have found your private message with instructions on how to contact support, but when following this link, I do not have the option for either chat or phone, only "Visit the HP Support Community." Is there another method to contact support?
