HP Deskjet 2600 doesn't print with upgrade 5G internet. It use to print fine wireless. Now that I had to get an internet upgrade, it no longer print and I had to cancel my HP smart ink subscription. Is there anything else that I can to use my printer until I can purchase another one?

Hi @Princess40,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Deskjet 2600 printer worked fine wirelessly before upgrading to a 5G internet service and now it's not printing, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Restart Devices
Restart Printer: Turn off your HP Deskjet 2600 printer, unplug it from power, wait for 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Restart Router: Power cycle your new 5G router. Unplug the router from power, wait for 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in and allow it to fully restart.
2. Check Wi-Fi Connection
Ensure Printer is Connected: On your printer's control panel, check the wireless connection status. Make sure it is connected to your new 5G Wi-Fi network.
Reconnect Printer: If the printer is not connected, follow the steps to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network. This usually involves going into the printer's settings menu, selecting your new Wi-Fi network, and entering the password.
3. Update Printer Firmware
- Check for Updates: Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model (Deskjet 2600), and check if there are any firmware updates available. Download and install any updates following the instructions provided.
4. Reinstall Printer Driver
Uninstall Existing Driver: On your computer, uninstall the current printer driver for the HP Deskjet 2600.
Install Latest Driver: Download and install the latest driver software for your printer from the HP website. Ensure you select the correct driver version compatible with your operating system.
5. Use HP Smart App (Optional)
- HP Smart App: Consider installing the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device. This app can help manage your printer settings, troubleshoot issues, and even initiate printing tasks.
6. Check Printer Settings
- Default Printer: Make sure the HP Deskjet 2600 is set as the default printer on your computer. Sometimes, changes in network settings can reset default preferences.
7. Network Configuration
- Router Settings: Access your router's settings to ensure that there are no restrictions or settings that could be blocking the printer from connecting.
8. Temporary Workaround
- USB Connection: If possible, temporarily connect your HP Deskjet 2600 printer to your computer via USB cable. This bypasses the need for a stable wireless connection and allows you to print directly
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Configure the 2.4Ghz channel of your new router with a unique SSID and only allow the printer to connect to that unique SSID. Likely the network chip in your current printer does not fully support newer implementations of 5Ghz.
