HP Deskjet 3070A
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

HP Deskjet 3070A won't print or copy after replacing with genuine HP cartridges. Is theer already a solution for this known problem. I have already done all the supposed instructions. When I try to  print a quality diagnostics page, I get the message "USE SETUP CARTRIDGES that came with your printer for printer initialization" My printer is at least 4 years old so my setup cartridges are LONG gone and was working perfectly before I replaced the cartridges.

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. I see from your post that you are getting "use setup cartridge" error message on your HP DeskJet printer. No worries, I'll be glad to help you.

 

In this scenario, I would suggest you try these steps here: 

 

Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

 

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

 

Did you try to update the printer firmware? If not, If your printer connected wireless, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to check for the latest firmware update if available for your printer, using this website. Restart the printer once done.
