Very sporadic printing. Sometimes it prints well, lately been not printing till I unplug the router and plug it back in. Then it prints, but only one page. The next page is half printed then spits out the page. Can't get it to print again. What could be going on? How do I fix this on my own?

Hi @KatAnna,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating printing issue. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to fix it.

  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that your printer has enough ink or toner. Low ink levels can cause printing issues, including incomplete prints or blank pages.
  • Clean Print Heads: Over time, print heads can become clogged with dried ink, which can lead to printing problems. Most printers have a built-in utility for cleaning print heads. You can usually access this through the printer's settings menu.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can also cause printing problems. Check the HP website for the latest drivers and install them on your computer.
  • Restart Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues. Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again.
  • Check Network Connection: Since you mentioned needing to unplug and plug back in the router, there might be an issue with the network connection. Make sure your printer is properly connected to the Wi-Fi network and that there are no network issues causing interruptions in communication.
  • Print a Test Page: Most printers have a self-test or diagnostic page that you can print to check for any hardware issues. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to print a test page.
  • Reset Printer: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting your printer to its factory defaults. Again, refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.

By following these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the printing issues with your HP Deskjet 3755 on your own.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I looked for updates to my printer and it tells me there is none. Maybe my printer is outdated? I've only had it a few years. Not even 10. Ink levels are fine and no updates available. Everything else on your list I have to do each time I print. Then it prints just one page and I usually have several pages to print. I dunno. It's different everytime I print.  I only print twice a month for my business invoices. Maybe it's because I don't print often enough to keep it alive?

I have to unplug my router and plug it back in each time I need to print. It prints consistently until about the 4th page, then freezes up and gives me an error that it's stuck in the que. Then I have to repeat the process over again to continue printing. I checked the website to see if there are any updates to the drivers and there were none. What else could be going on here?

Hi @KatAnna,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing an issue with your printer that prints half of the page.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

C) If the issue still persists, uninstall the printer software by following the steps from this link and restart the devices.

D)  Install the printer software by clicking on the link again and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Note: Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day
