HP Deskjet 3940 Color Inkjet Printer windows10
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I have an HP deskjet 3940 printer. My PC's OS is Windows 10 and I have installing the built in driver. Suddenly yesterday I saw the message "Your printer is out of paper" when I am trying to print. This is a wrong message because my printer has paper in tray, the same as usual. Yesterday I shut down the printer, unplugged the usb cable, shut down my pc and today after starting my PC I tried to see if there is any message in Printers session and it's still this message "Printer out of paper" without any connection with my printer which is still closed since yesterday and not even connected to my PC. I delete printer from my PC, istall the driver again and still the same message. Can I do something to clean this message from my printer condition in Windows 10 system?

Hi, Which built in drivers are you using? please try the below steps go to devices and printers and delete the printer icon then on top left hand you will find server properties go to server properties > driver tab remove any HP printer driver that you see here. then select add a printer(let the USB be connected follow the instructions on the printer setup wizard. in the drivers window, select HP on the right hand side of the window select Deskjet 6980( if you dont find this driver you will have a option to update the list in the window. update it and install the DJ 6980. select the port and then try again. Hope this helps.
