Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • HP 121 is the compatible HP Ink cartridge with HP Deskjet F4280 All-in-One Printer
  • If you would like to buy the same, contact HP Sales team in your region

Scanning can be initiated from the computer even if there are no ink cartridges installed in the printer. If you get a prompt about ink cartridge, press appropriate option to Hide/bypass it.

Click here to download and install the HP Full-featured driver if not installed already on your computer.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation.

  1. Load the item you want to scan on the scanner glass.

  2. Search Windows for HP, and then select your printer.

    HP Printer Assistant opens.

  3. Click Scan, and then click Scan a Document or Photo.

    HP Scan opens.

  4. Select a scan shortcut, change any scan job settings, and then click Scan.

Let me know how this goes.
