@Taff681, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The issue you're describing with your HP DeskJet Plus 4120 All-in-One Printer — showing two flashing red lights and a flashing blue light — typically indicates a paper jam, low ink, or connection issue. Here's how to troubleshoot it step-by-step:
🔴 Flashing Red Lights (usually Ink & Error icons)
These commonly mean:
- Low/empty ink or ink cartridge issue
- Paper jam or paper feed issue
🔵 Flashing Blue Wireless Light
This usually means the printer is trying to connect to Wi-Fi but isn’t successfully connected.
Check for Paper Jam
- Open the input tray, output tray, and cartridge access area.
- Remove any jammed or stuck paper.
- Gently move the rollers with your fingers to clear them.
Check Ink Cartridges
- Open the ink cartridge access door.
- Make sure both cartridges are installed correctly.
- Remove and reinsert each cartridge to reseat them.
- If either cartridge is low or faulty, replace it.
If you see the cartridge icons blinking, it usually indicates a problem with ink detection or the cartridges themselves.
Fix Wi-Fi Issue
- The flashing blue wireless light means it’s not connected to Wi-Fi.
- Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for 3 seconds until it starts blinking.
- Then open the HP Smart app on your phone or computer and re-add the printer.
- Follow prompts to connect it back to your Wi-Fi.
Make sure your phone/computer is on the same Wi-Fi network you're connecting the printer to.
Power Cycle
- Unplug the printer from power.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
If the Problem Persists:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor (for Windows).
- Or, reset the printer:
- Press and hold the Cancel + Wireless buttons together for about 10 seconds to restore factory settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
