Hi @HLW2

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems you're experiencing the Paper Mismatch Error - E1 with your HP DeskJet Plus 6075, and you've already tried many of the common troubleshooting steps without success. Let's go over some additional suggestions to address this issue.

What is the Paper Mismatch Error (E1)?

This error typically occurs when the paper size or type selected in the printer settings doesn't match the paper loaded in the printer's paper tray. It can happen even when the paper appears to be properly aligned and selected.

Since you have already tried multiple steps, here are some additional troubleshooting steps and considerations:

1. Double-check Paper Size and Type Settings:

Sometimes the settings in the printer’s control panel or in the printing software can cause a mismatch. Make sure that the paper type and size selected in the printer settings match exactly the paper you’ve loaded in the tray.

  • For Mac and Windows:
    • When sending a print job, verify that you have selected the correct paper size in both the application you are printing from and the print dialog settings (e.g., 8.5 x 11, A4, letter).
    • Set Paper Type: Some printers also have a paper type setting (e.g., plain paper, photo paper). Ensure the paper type matches what you have loaded in the tray.
    • Ensure the paper is properly aligned in the paper tray, and there is no gap between the paper and the paper guide.
    • Ensure the paper is not curled or jammed.

2. Paper Tray Reset:

  • Remove all paper from the tray, then reload a small stack of paper (make sure it's aligned properly).
  • Reset the tray by gently adjusting the paper width guides to fit the paper snugly without bending it.
  • Try a Different Paper: In some cases, thick, glossy, or incorrectly sized paper can cause mismatches. Try using standard printer paper (e.g., 8.5 x 11-inch, plain white paper).

3. Printer Firmware Update:

It's possible the issue might be caused by outdated firmware. Check if there's a firmware update available for your HP DeskJet Plus 6075:

  • To Update Printer Firmware:
    • You can check for firmware updates using HP Smart (via desktop or mobile app), or visit the HP support website for your printer model and download the latest firmware.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
