HP Officejet 8620 Pro (8625)
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Regarding HP's printer firmware change of 9/13/17, my cartridges now show as one or more "ink cartridge damaged", when now trying to print.  When I took to Costco, they directed me to inkjet411.com and it takes you to a download to deactivate these features and thus eliminate the warning and thus allow me to print.  When I go to download the link, however, I get the following:

Not Found

The requested URL /pub/softlib/software13/printers/OJP8620_R1640B_updated.exe was not found on this server.

Any advice?

The inkjet411.com site is not an HP site, then HP does not have any control of items presented there.

The most recent release of firmware for the Officejet Pro 8620 series is R1733A, released today, September 19, 2017 and available for download from HP here.

From the description (emphasis mine):

The purpose of this firmware update is to address CVE-2017-9765 - an Integer overflow in SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) which allows the execution of arbitrary code or Denial of Service. HP recommends that this update be installed on your printer. Additionally, it removes outdated supplies authentication measures as deployed in firmware version 1640AR or 1640CR that may prevent the printer from working with certain ink supplies that contain non-HP security chips. Please note that even with this change HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP supplies.
