Hi. I found a post from 2 years ago with the same problem... The HP Envy 4500 e-all-in-one printer will not print anymore... https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/Envy-4500-no-longer-printing-on-google-cloud-print/td-...
I followed all of the steps, but I found out that the printer is no longer listed as a cloud compatible printer...: https://www.google.com/cloudprint/learn/printers/
It used to work fine.. But now they get an error.. And I can't see how I can re-install the printer to see if that helps...
Can you please help me?

Hello, @Kallstrom
You do not need a MAC or Windows PC.
You simply need to use the CHROME WEB BROWSER on your Chromebook to add the printer as suggested in my previous post. Open the Chrome browser and then try the steps below:
- At the top right, click More
Settings.
- At the bottom, click Advanced.
- Under "Printing," click Google Cloud Print.
- Click Manage Cloud Print devices.
- If prompted, sign in with your Google Account.
- Select the printers you want to connect, and then click Add printer(s).
If you are facing any issues, go through all the steps listed here: http://hp.care/2sSAGQB
Those steps should do the trick, let me know the outcome!
Cheers 🙂

Hello, @Kallstrom - Hope you are well 🙂
Allow me to welcome to HP Support Forums! It is a great platform to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!
I see that you are having issues while printing to your Envy from your Chromebook. I would like to help 🙂
As per my understanding, the Envy printer is still a cloud-ready printer. You can setup the cloud printing again to try and fix the issue. Follow the steps below:
- First, make sure the printer is connected to your wireless network. If not already connected, follow the steps below:
- On the printer control panel, press the Wireless icon
, and then press the button
next to Settings.
- Press the down arrow to scroll to Wireless Setup Wizard, and then press OK.
- Press the down arrow to scroll to the name of your network, and then press OK.
- Enter your wireless password to get the printer connected to your network.
- On the printer control panel, press the Wireless icon
- Now, we need to setup the cloud ready printer to your Chromebook.
Open the Chrome browser
, and then sign in to your Google account.
Click the Chrome menu icon
, and then select Settings from the drop-down menu.
In the Settings window, scroll down and select Show advanced settings....
Scroll down to Google Cloud Print, then click the Manage button.
Google Cloud Print detects any printers on the network. Select your printer and then register your printer.
Now, you can easily print from your Chromebook using the Google cloud print. Check http://hp.care/2cYVMZ9 for detailed instructions.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Good luck 🙂

Hi. Thanks - But it didn't help.. I have done everything.. Now it won't even show the printer on the network..
"Google Cloud Print detects any printers on the network. Select your printer and then register your printer." - Doesn't detect my printer.. I first deleted it, because it doesn't work - now it won't show up as a new or an old.

Hello, @Kallstrom
Is the printer connected to the network? Check the wireless light on the printer. If the light is blinking, then the printer is not connected to the network. If the light is solid & not blinking then the printer is connected to the network.
If the printer is connected to the network, then try the steps listed below:
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to get the IP address.
- Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
- Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
- Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
- Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
- Restart the printer and then router once done.
Those steps should do the trick, let me know the outcome!
Cheers 🙂

Still not working..
I can't see the device on chrome://devices/ - Not under "New devices" and not under "my devices"...
Also tried the "Guide wireless setup" - Not working.. I need to connect the printer to my chromebook, So I can just choose the printer when going to the Print setting..
So the printer is connected to the network, and I changed the ip - And restarted both printer and router.. But it doesn't show up as a unit I can print from...

Hello, @Kallstrom
I understand that the printer is connected to the network & a static IP address is assigned to the machine.
Now, try the steps below and check:
- Turn on your printer.
- On your Windows or Mac computer, open Chrome browser.
The printer is now associated with your Google Account and connected to Google Cloud Print. You can print to this printer from any device where you're signed in to your Google Account.
Let me know if that helps!
Thank you 🙂
