My HP ENVY 5535 all-in-one printer continues to work fine when operated by my Windows 10 PC. Unfortunately, my new Windows 11 PC cannot print properly to it.
Windows 11 PC problems:
1. It only prints the first few lines of a test page, them ejects the page.
2. I can print 1 full page of text, but if I send an image to print, the printer just continues to "load" the job and never prints.
3. When i use HP software to install and setup the printer, it goes through all steps successfully until the last step. It can never connect to the printer by USB nor by wireless.
4. When I run HP troubleshooting software it cannot locate a connection to the printer, even when I manually enter the IP address.
I hope that someone can help resolve this matter, as I have a few unused ink cartridges for it and I don't want to replace it. It prints great from my Windows 10 PC.

Thank you for replying to my inquiry. I'm sorry the information provided in your response wasn't helpful.
By the time your reply posted, I had already confirmed that current drivers for Windows 11 were installed from HP.com/support, and that firmware is up to date.
I have managed to get HP Smart installation software to connect to the printer by USP and wireless. The printer still does not function properly from my Windows 11 Home PC.
It cannot print a test page successfully, despite all efforts.
My next step is to allow my PC to install the driver provided by Windows 11 operating system.

@Jim5535, You’ve already done a lot of the heavy lifting — updating drivers, firmware, and trying both USB and wireless. Great work there. Since the HP Smart software now recognizes the printer but it still fails to complete print jobs, it does seem like Windows 11 may be having trouble communicating with the device at a deeper level.
Letting Windows install its default driver is a smart next step — sometimes the built-in Microsoft drivers are better tuned for compatibility when manufacturer ones struggle.
Also, if you haven’t already, try disabling “bidirectional support”:
Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers
Right-click your printer > Printer Properties > Ports tab
Uncheck Enable bidirectional support
It’s a small tweak but has surprisingly helped in situations like this.
Let us know how it feels after that — smooth printout or still stuck. We’re here to get those pages flowing again.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
