Hi hi!
So have had this printer a coming up to a year now - while I've had general issues (much as other users I've seen on the forums) with the printer not keeping connected to the re-connecting to the network or accepting print jobs unless it's literally unplugged then plugged in. Which was a bother but not a deal breaker.
It still printed and scanned okay.
Now since signing up to the HP Print plan - it's having problems a lot. I am completely shocked to find I have to login / be online to scan using HP Smart. Which is bordering on malware. I bought a tool, disabling a function because you want my data - without telling me you're going to lock that function is really underhand.
Anyway! Today been trying to do a simple scan, whenever I put anything into the scan bed - It moved into automatic copy mode - No way out of it. I've reset, again still wants to do a copy. Then just starts flashing. If you try and let it copy, nothing comes out anyway. Went through all the steps in troubleshooting, went through uninstalling then reinstalling. Restarting machines, routers. The works. Finally went through the reset printer to factory settings as per the guide on support. And now when it turns it just flashes amber with E / O in led for error. It does this when ever it's turned on. No features work. Nothing.
I should have guessed things were not going to go well when I got a physical letter sent to my house saying my printer was offline and HP smart needed it online to tell if it needed ink. Like, what on earth! I just want the thing to work. It just needs to print and just needs to scan. It shouldn't need my data about when it's online or not or me to be in a sign up plan to do the basic thing I bought it for!

Hi,
Please resolve the E0 error first, this indicated a cartridge problem or an empty cartridge:
When you open the ink cartridge access door you should see a light for the indicated cartridge, so check which ink cartridge is indicated and check the ink levels using HP Smart or via Printers & Scanners:
