HP ENVY 6452e Print Failed: showing %Starting flattened image 8 0 obj <</Type/XObject/Subtype/Image/

When I print PDF files on my computer. The printer did print something out. But it is not the file I wanted. It printed things like "%Starting flattened image 8 0 obj <</Type/XObject/Subtype/Image/" on the paper.

Hi @MaylinNorthBay,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your printer is printing out raw PDF data instead of rendering the PDF file correctly. This issue can occur due to various reasons such as a corrupted PDF file, outdated printer drivers, or issues with the print spooler service.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed for your HP ENVY 6452e. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support website.

Use a Different PDF Reader:

  • Try using a different PDF reader, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, Foxit Reader, or SumatraPDF. Sometimes the issue can be related to the PDF software you are using.

Check Print Settings:

  • Make sure that the print settings in your PDF reader are correctly configured. Ensure that "Print as Image" or a similar setting is selected in the print dialog box.

Reinstall Printer:

  • Remove the printer from your list of devices and reinstall it:
    1. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
    2. Select your printer and click Remove device.
    3. Reinstall the printer by clicking Add a printer or scanner.

Clear Print Spooler:

  • Clear the print spooler to remove any stuck print jobs:
    1. Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
    2. Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click, and select Stop.
    3. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete all files in this folder.
    4. Go back to the Services window, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start.

Convert the PDF File:

  • Try converting the PDF to another format (like JPEG or PNG) using an online converter or a software tool, then print the converted file.

Test with a Different PDF File:

  • Test printing with a different PDF file to see if the issue is specific to the original PDF.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
