I am able to print test sheets from the computer and they are OK, but when I am printing other items from the computer are "blank", even though they show up on the print screen and the printer acts like it is printing, but nothing shows up

I have tried printing from "notes", webpages and "pages"...when I go to "test" (from the computer), I can print test sheets with great success and everything looks good...when I print every other item, the printer goes thru all the motions of printing, including: "hearing" the print head moving across the paper and "printing" both sides of the sheet, but the paper is blank...
I have deleted all files to the printer and reloaded "HP Smart" and deleted the printer and re-added it to the system...the only "good" thing that happened was that now I have (for the first time in 2+ years) wireless printing...I just went back and tried to print a document from "desktop" and it printed OK, then I went to Safari and it printed a web page for me...I have been using "Brave" as my browser and it was printing OK up until a week ago...go figure!...just tried to print this page (on Brave) and, again, a blank sheet...I would like to stay with Brave - any suggestions?

@ronzel, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I see that the printouts are blank from the Mac.
- Which application are you trying to print from?
- Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?
Try making a standalone copy from the flatbed glass and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
Also, check for any software updates on Mac
Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
Kindly follow the steps mentioned in this document - Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues
Check the ink levels, clean the ink cartridges, and print a test page.
Also, check the print settings, refer to - HP print settings guide (Windows, Mac)
Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

Uninstall the HP printer driver from the Mac. Refer to - Uninstall HP printer software and drivers
Install the printer using the AirPrint driver (recommended)
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
Note: Select "Bonjour multifunction" under kind while installing.
Try printing.
Let me know how this goes.

I really appreciate the help, but did everything you suggested (except I couldn't find bonjour multifunction anywhere) and now, I went to print a PDF document from desktop and got the blank sheet of paper, again...I'm ready to trash this printer and buy another brand...PS I'v use HP for 36 years and most recently wore out a photo all-in-one HP that I loved, but the gears running the paper delivery and print heads started growling, then quit...

@ronzel
I understand your concern. However, if you are able to make copies and print test pages fine, it means the issue is not with the printer. The printer hardware is working fine.
It could be a software issue.
Download and install the HP Smart app from App Store and check if that helps.
you may refer to - HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
Let me know how it goes.

Kumar0307, I really do appreciate your helpfulness and desire to assist me in my dilemma...I have done everything I know of and what you recommended, and GUESS WHAT?... the printer is now working...I cannot tell you what it was because I did so many deletes of the software and downloads, etc., but it works and I am grateful for the response from you...
blessings,
Ronzel
