My HP Photo Envy 7855 printer stops booting up and. It doesn't get past the first dot when loading, just sits there for hours. I saw many people have same issue!!!
I have tried to unplug and plug back in but it doesn’t work. Are there other way to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi @Goji-0,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy Photo 7855 printer is stuck during the boot-up process and doesn't progress beyond the first loading dot, there are several steps you can try to resolve the issue.
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and from the power outlet.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to both the printer and the power outlet.
- Turn the printer back on.
Check for Obstructions: Ensure there are no paper jams or foreign objects inside the printer that may be causing it to get stuck during startup.
Update Firmware:
- Visit the HP support website and search for your printer model.
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer and follow the instructions to update it. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve stability issues.
Factory Reset:
- Keep in mind that a factory reset will erase any custom settings and configurations you have set on the printer.
- To perform a factory reset, consult your printer's manual or HP's official support documentation for specific instructions.
Perform a Hard Reset (as a last resort):
- This should only be done if all else fails, as it can have more significant consequences.
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
