Envy photo 7155

Brand new printer.  First wouldnt take "setup" cartridges that it came with.  Went out and bought two new black cartridges and a color one.  Now it says that the black cartridge needs to be installed correctly.

Reset the cartridge several times     Nothing

"cleaned" the connectors on printer as directed    Nothing

Pulled chord and waited the sixty seconds     Nothing

STILL WAITING ON SOME HELP HERE

I have the same problem. I was copying something, then I smelled something as if something was burning. Cartridge problem was displayed for black cartridge. I got a new cartridge, wiped all contacts, installed, and still get the same error. I bought this printer new 13 months ago, so its barely out of warranty. I thought it would last longer than that. I have another HP Envy printer that is over 5 years old that I just gave to my daughter in college and never had any problem. I am extremely disappointed so I may have to switch  to another manufacturer.

Sorry, your suggestion of loading firmware updates did not resolve my issue as my printer indicates that no updates are needed.

I have been talking to HP customer service. They just want to keep on sending me new ink cartridges to resolve the problem. They have already sent me 2 and wanted to send me a 3rd. I am convinced that these black cartridges short out will printing, and that is why I smelt something burning.  And because my printer is 1 month out of warranty, they will not stand behind their product event though their ink cartridge destroyed my printer. A manager is to call me shortly as this issue has been escalated. If they will not stand behind their printer and not fix mine or replace it, I will be forced to cancel my 2 ink subscriptions, throw both my HP printers in the garbage, and buy 2 new Epson printers. And because of my software engineering skills, I will be able to post many negative HP reviews on the web. It probably would cost HP $50 to send me a new printer, and make of the expense from the 2 ink subscriptions I have with them. I will post their decision here and elsewhere shortly.
