HP ENVY Photo 7800 is frozen after last HP update. Factory reset does not work. I can see the printer on my home network, but cannot communicate with it at all. I did verify the queue is empty, after I canceled all printer jobs.

Hi @roebi,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Product. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
If your HP ENVY Photo 7800 is frozen and not communicating with your network after a recent update, here are a few steps you can try:
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
Check for Firmware Update:
- If possible, check the HP support website for any new firmware updates that might address this issue.
- If your printer is connected to a network, you might be able to update the firmware through the printer’s control panel or HP Smart app.
Reconfigure Network Settings:
- On the printer, go to the network settings and re-enter your Wi-Fi credentials. Sometimes, reconfiguring the network settings can help.
- Ensure your printer is connected to the correct network.
Use HP Smart App or HP Printer Utility:
- Open the HP Smart app or HP Printer Utility on your computer or mobile device.
- Check if the app can communicate with the printer and attempt any diagnostic or repair options provided.
Reconnect Printer to Network:
- If the printer is connected via Wi-Fi, try reconnecting it to your network. This might involve selecting your network and entering the password again.
Check Printer for Error Messages:
- Look at the printer’s display for any error messages or indicators of issues that might need to be addressed.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- If a factory reset via the control panel didn’t work, try a hard reset:
- With the printer powered on, unplug it from the power source.
- Hold down the power button while you plug the printer back in.
- Continue holding the power button for about 60 seconds before releasing it.
