After I turned the desktop computer on to start the setup, a big wifi icon on the left seems to suggest it's wifi-enabled. However, instead of trying to find wifi, it's asking me to plug in the ethernet. I thought that nowadays' computer are ALL wifi-enabled without needing a wifi adapter.
At first, I thought my wifi had problem, so I restarted my router. as suggested. There is nothing wrong with my wifi or router, for all other devices were wifi connected fine. Then, I just inserted the wiifadapter which I had for my old old old computer just gave it a shot. Then, the wifi worked completely.
Can someone give me some input about what happened and if my computer is not wifi-capable internally or not?? Thanks

Hardly any HP business desktop comes with built in Wi-Fi yet.
It is still an option that you select when you custom order the PC.
It is very easy to find out if your PC came with built in wifi:
Go to the device manager.
Click to expand the Network adapters device manager category.
If your PC came with Wi-Fi, there will be one of the following model Wi-Fi adapters listed there along with the ethernet adapter:
Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE200 +Bluetooth® 5.4 Wireless Card
Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX211 + Bluetooth® 5.3 Wireless Card
Realtek RTL8852BE 802.11ax 2x2 Wi-Fi® 6 Bluetooth® 5.3 Wireless Card
Those were the optional Wi-Fi adapters offered in the model series.

The general spec page suggests that most models should have wifi of some sort. Without the exact model number from the sticker on the back hard to say. It is possible that the WiFi is disabled through the bios of the computer and that is something you can check. Have you looked at the device manger of windows to see if the wifi is listed? Go to control panel>device manager and expand network adapters.

You're very welcome.
If you don't want to take the PC apart to add an internal Wi-Fi adapter, I use this model USB Wi-Fi adapter on my 800 Elite G3 Desktop MIni PC which did not come with built in Wi-Fi.
It's dual band AC and even has Bluetooth.
If you want to add an internal desktop Wi-Fi kit with external antennas, I recommend this model:
It comes with both the standard tower mounting bracket and the low profile (SFF) mounting bracket.
