When I scan and copy, I only see streaks of colors/black. The printer prints OK. I tried the "hard reset" and restoring factory defaults. The "product updates" are up-to-date.

It worked fine a few days ago, and nothing has changed with the printer in terms of location, etc. It is plugged directly into the wall outlet. It is connected via wi-fi, but I have the problem when I try to copy directly on the printer, so it doesn't seem related to the wi-fi.

  • Have you cleaned the Scanner glass?
  • Make sure there is no dust/debris on the scanner glass.
  • Follow steps from this link to troubleshoot the issue.

I'm afraid this could be a possible Scanner failure. Since you have already tried all the possible troubleshooting steps and the issue persists, please contact our HP Support team for Service Options:

1) Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.
