Hi,

Yesterday I was printing a document and realized I had it set to print double sided.  I didn't want to do that, so after the first page printed and the ink was drying, I removed the paper.  I realize now that this was a mistake, because I got a message that said "Incompatible cartridge  - the indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer" referring to the black ink cartridge.

Here's what I've already tried to fix the problem:

1. removing the cartridge and reinserting it.

2. unplugging and restarting the printer.

3. replacing the old cartridge with a brand new cartridge.

4.  unplugging, cleaning the cartridge holder with a coffee filter and letting it dry for ten minutes, plugging it back in and having it restart (as per the hp support pages/videos I found).

I've tried all of those solutions multiple times with no resolution to the issue.

What else can I do to try and fix the issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

Jess

@jcspeake, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue.

If you have already performed the steps from the document  HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
