Hello all, here is my issue:
HP Envy 4500 Printer keeps displaying "printing alignment page" but nothing happens? If I send a new job to the printer it prints just fine. If I go into settings all work just fine. Everything is reporting everything correctly. I read what to do in case of a situation like this and have ALREADY TRIED THE FOLLOWING...NOTHING WORKS. Still displaying "printing alignment page".

1.) Hard Reset: left printer on. Unplugged for greater then 60 seconds.

2.) Hard Reset with removal of cartridges. Reinstalled cartridges once printer has booted up.

3.) Reinserted paper.

4.) Checked to make sure all doors are closed and no paper jams.

5.) Tried different cartridges including Official HP Cartridges.

6.) Updated Firmware.

7.) Tried to manually get the printer to the home screen to attempt to manually print an alignment page (could not get printer to allow me onto the home page.

No matter what as soon as the printer receives power it immediately displays "printing alignment page" but it fails to do so. I even left it on all night displaying this. It never printed.

How do I get rid of this!!!!?????? Why won't it disappear with a hard reset and firmware update!

@xtremevette, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.

Insert one ink cartridge at a time and check for the error to identify the defective ink cartridge.

Have you tried using a different set of ink cartridges to check if that helps?
