I am trying to just copy on my HP Envy 4501.  I can print from computer or phone, but when I try to copy, it doesn't do anything.  It worked fine when I copied something a week or two ago!  Very frustrating!!!

Hello 4dugnlee,

Try the below mentioned steps.

  1. Unplug the power cord from back of the printer while the printer is ON.
  2. Wait for 60 seconds.
  3. Plug in the printer power cord directly to a wall outlet ( bypass the surge protector / power strip ). And then connect the other end of the power cord to the back of the printer.
  4. If the printer does not power ON automatically, press the ON button to do so.
  5. Once the printer is ready, Open the Scanner lid. Check if the scan carriage moves from right to left.
  6. While the scan lid is open, press the COPY button/option on the printer.
  7. Check for scan carriage movement.
    1. Yes, it moves :  then try making a copy it should work.
    2. No, it does not move :  Its time for the printer be serviced. Issue with the scan carriage module. You may contact HP Authorized Service Partner in your country/region.

Jabzi
