My HP Envy 4520 will only print partial pages. It started printing about half a page, and now it's printing the first quarter inch at most or nothing at all. I have new ink cartridges in there, have cleaned print heads, reset to factory settings, etc.
Pages for Printer Status Report, Print Quality Diagnostic, Printer Alignment, and Cleaning Printer Heads all print perfectly. So the ink levels are final and so are the print heads, alignment, etc. It can clearly print a full page. It just stops after a couple of lines for any document I attempt to print.

Hi @David1054,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Envy 4520 is having trouble with printing full pages despite the status reports showing no issues. Since you've already tried cleaning the print heads and replacing ink cartridges, here are a few additional troubleshooting steps you might consider.
Check Print Spooler:
- Open the "Services" application on your computer (search for "Services" in the Start menu).
- Find and right-click on "Print Spooler," then select "Restart."
- Try printing again to see if this resolves the issue.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your HP Envy 4520.
- You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support website or use the HP Smart app.
Check Printer Settings:
- Ensure that your printer settings are correctly configured in the print dialog box.
- Sometimes, setting the correct paper size and print quality can resolve partial printing issues.
Try Different Document Formats:
- Attempt to print different types of documents (e.g., PDFs, Word documents) to rule out issues with specific file formats.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Examine Print Queue:
- Ensure there are no stuck print jobs in the print queue.
- You can access this through the "Devices and Printers" settings on your computer.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can resolve printing issues.
- You can check for firmware updates through the HP Smart app or on the HP website.
Inspect the Paper Path:
- Ensure there are no obstructions or debris in the paper path that could be affecting printing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
