Hi @Jharvin,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy 4520 printer is displaying a "blocked" error message, it typically indicates that there is some sort of obstruction or issue preventing the printer from functioning properly. Here are some steps you can follow to resolve this issue.
- Check for Paper Jams: The most common reason for a "blocked" message is a paper jam. Open the printer cover and carefully inspect the paper path for any stuck or jammed paper. If you find any, gently remove it. Make sure to turn off the printer and unplug it before reaching inside to remove any jammed paper.
- Inspect for Foreign Objects: Sometimes, foreign objects like paper clips or pieces of torn paper can get lodged inside the printer and block its operation. Carefully inspect the interior of the printer for any foreign objects and remove them.
- Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 30 seconds. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can help reset the printer and clear any temporary errors.
- Check for Software Errors: Sometimes, the issue might be related to software or driver problems. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. You can download them from the HP website. If you suspect a software issue, try reinstalling the printer software.
- Clean the Printer: Dust and debris can accumulate inside the printer over time and cause blockages. Use a can of compressed air to blow out any dust and debris from the printer's interior. Be careful not to touch sensitive components.
- Check Ink Cartridges: Sometimes, an issue with the ink cartridges can trigger a "blocked" message. Make sure your ink cartridges are properly installed and have enough ink. You may also want to try replacing any low or empty cartridges.
- Perform a Printer Self-Test: Most printers have a self-test or diagnostic mode. Consult your printer's manual to see how to access this mode. Running a self-test can help you identify specific issues with the printer's hardware.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
