Hi, 

 

I hope someone from HP will see this post and can help - my printer is only detecting color and failing to print anything in black ink. Even then the print quality is bad (its just green) with streaks throughout. The attached picture is a document from my PC which is a contents page for a piece of work with a page header, as you can see only the page header has printed in the poor quality as explained above.

 

I have done the cartridge cleaning, I've done a hard reset as explained in a post I saw on this forum and I've tried alignment. Nothing works. I've tried to do a copy too to see if it is a printer driver issue and the same thing happens, bad quality only in green and no black ink.Test Page.jpg

Try a new black cartridge.

There is ink in the cartridge according to the ink levels on the printer display, also that wouldn't explain why the colour cartridge only prints in green surely.

Simple test touch the color printhead to a paper towel, do you see 3 strips of color

No just a green blot on the paper

You will need to change the cartridge, you should be seeing yellow, magenta & cyan on the towel.
