Envy 5055
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Envy 5055 Printer. It is basically brand new. During initial setup it was printing blank pages, so I tried the "trial" cartridges that came with the printer. That worked for one or two print jobs, I left it sitting for a couple of weeks and it wasn't working again. I tried switching out the cartridges with genuine HP ink and it didn't help at all. Now anything I try to print, including any of the reports straight from the printer just come out as blank pages. I'm wondering, although everything I've read says the printer can use genuine HP ink, if for some reason my printer will only accept the Instant Ink - which I am not interested in subscribing because I only use the printer occasionally. I have tried unplugging the printer, a factory reset, making sure the drivers were up to date, cleaning the cartridges, running reports (which didn't print), uninstalling then reinstalling the printer on my computer, HP Print and Scan Doctor - which said everything is fine and reading through countless forums - all to no avail. I'm at a loss at this point and honestly considering getting rid of it.

Your cartridges are drying from not using the printer often. Make sure you have fresh ink cartridges and you need to use your printer every 2-3 days to prevent ink from drying.
