Hello,
I have seen this question posed on these boards before, but still have yet to see an answer. My HP Envy 5070 printer experienced a power failure last week. I was busy at the time, so I unplugged it and thought I would restart it later. Today was that day.
Upon plugging it in, it begins the startup with the loading line moving at a swift pace. But once it gets to two dots, the loading line stops moving and the screen freezes. I have tried unplugging the power cord from the back of the device, waiting a minute, and plugging everything back in but get the same result.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
Thank you,

Hi @58752765,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Envy 5070 printer is stuck during the startup process after a power failure. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:
Perform a Power Reset:
- Unplug the power cord from the printer while it is turned on.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the printer.
- Turn on the printer and see if it starts up correctly.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Sometimes, a paper jam or obstruction can cause the printer to hang during startup.
- Open any accessible covers and check for jammed paper or any other visible obstructions.
- Carefully remove any paper jams or obstructions if found.
Update Firmware (if possible):
- If your printer allows for firmware updates (often done through the printer's control panel or via the HP Smart app), ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed.
- Updated firmware can sometimes resolve issues related to startup and functionality.
Check for Hardware Issues:
- Inspect the printer for any signs of hardware damage, such as loose cables, broken parts, or anything unusual.
- If the printer has any visible damage, it may need professional servicing.
Factory Reset (if necessary):
- As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. This will reset all settings to their factory defaults.
- Instructions for performing a factory reset can usually be found in the printer's user manual or on the HP support website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
