Envy 5540
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an Envy 5540 that I'm moving from a Windows 7 computer to a Windows 10 computer, connected via USB.  I had no issues on the Windows 7 computer.

The printer is recognized by Windows and the HP software as well as scans to the PC and copies with no issue.  However, I cannot print a document to the printer.  I've ran through all the troubleshooting steps available via HP Print and Scan Doctor, as well as the HP Virtual Assistant (this included uninstalling/reinstalling drivers, updating firmware, stopping and restart pooling service, etc.).

When I try to print a test document via Notepad, the document pops up in the Printer Spool window, and then disappears after a short while but doesn't print.  There are no documents stuck in this queue.

When I run through the HP Print and Scan Doctor steps the printer will not print a normal test page, but will print an 'internal test page.'  It can also print a diagnostic report as well.

I'm not sure why the printer can be seen and can scan to my PC, but is not able to print.  I had also tested a networked MFP M225dw and my computer can print to that via my local network just fine.

@thatcarismine,

Did you install the WIN10 software package,. or the older WIN 7 package?

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..

Windows 10 package, directly downloaded via HP's website every time.

Nothing on the new computer has any drivers/software from Windows 7.  Only the physical printer has migrated.
