Hi @Bob10421,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The E1 error message on your HP Envy 6000 series printer typically indicates a paper or ink issue. Here are steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check Paper Loading
- Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly in the tray and that it’s the right size (A4 in your case).
- Make sure the paper guides are snug against the paper without bending it.
2. Inspect for Paper Jams
- Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions. Remove any jammed paper carefully.
3. Examine Ink Cartridges
- Make sure the ink cartridges are installed correctly. Remove them and reinsert them to ensure they are seated properly.
- Check for any protective tape that might still be on the cartridges.
4. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for about 30 seconds. Plug it back in and turn it on again.
5. Check for Firmware Updates
- Open the HP Smart app or go to the HP Support website to check for firmware updates for your printer. Updating can resolve various issues.
6. Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. This can help diagnose and fix common printer issues.
7. Clear Print Queue
- Check your print queue on your computer to ensure there are no stalled print jobs that could be causing the issue.
8. Factory Reset (if necessary)
- If the E1 error persists, consider performing a factory reset. Check your printer manual for instructions, as this will reset all settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
