HP Envy 6055 printer won't print and gives "low ink" message even with new cartridge.  I followed all of the steps given by the virtual assistant, including unplugging the printer and waiting 5 minutes.  Still won't print.  Can you give me any other tips?  Is this a common problem with this printer?

Hi @Pat_Odonn,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already tried some basic troubleshooting steps, so let's delve into a few more potential solutions.

  • Verify Cartridge Installation: Double-check that the new cartridge is properly installed. Sometimes, a cartridge may not be seated correctly, leading to detection issues.
  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to clean the contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer where the cartridge is installed. This can help ensure a good connection.
  • Reset Printer: Try resetting the printer to its default settings. You can usually find this option in the printer's menu settings. This might clear any error messages and allow the printer to recognize the new cartridge properly.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, HP releases firmware updates to address issues like cartridge detection problems.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
