Hi all, I have a nearly new HP Envy 6132e printer that was working fine but now won't print anything. It just hangs but did briefly display error FO.01.03.01. Does anyone have any idea how to fix it?

Hi @Moir62,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
The error code F0.01.03.01 on an HP Envy 6132e printer likely indicates a critical system error. This can be caused by various issues, including firmware corruption, hardware malfunctions, or problems with the printer's internal components.
Please remove the Cartridges from the Printer if possible, and try a Hard Reset. Do keep us posted to help you better
** Hard reset:
1. Turn the printer on if it is not already on.
2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
5. Wait at least 60 seconds.
6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
8. Turn on the printer if it does not automatically turn on. The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
9. Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
HP Smart App: Please uninstall the HP Smart app --> restart the Device, Wi-Fi router and printer, --> install it back and add the printer.
HP Firmware Update: Please update the Firmware from the link. This will help to update the firmware on the printer or devices.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi and thank you for your response. There were no updates outstanding when I checked but my printer received an update on Monday morning and started working again! What really annoys me most about this is HP clearly broke it with a faulty software update and when I went back to my old printer, HP had disabled that from working with the genuine HP cartridges it had as well. So they broke my new printer and disabled my old one. So much for progress

Hi @Moir62,
I can understand how frustrating that must have felt. It’s genuinely upsetting when something that should just work ends up causing more disruption, especially when it’s due to a software update that you had no control over.
You’ve shown a lot of patience, and your experience highlights exactly why transparency and user control matter so much.
Please help us with the Printer serial number or the product number in a private message for further assistance.
